Getting started with Janeway

Getting started with Janeway page

This page takes you through your first steps on a Janeway journal: registering an account, signing in, and any next steps. Each section links to a more detailed guide.

Creating or finding your Janeway account

Creating or finding your Janeway account section

Most tasks in Janeway require an account. To create one, click Register on the journal website and follow the steps in Creating an account on Janeway.

You may not need to register if:

  • You are an author submitting an article. An account will be created as part of the submission process.
  • You are an reviewer with a journal that uses one-click peer review. The review link in the email may lead dirctly to the review, in this case you do not need to create an account first.
  • If you already hold an account for another journal on the press. You can login in with your existing email address and password, but an editor may need to give you the correct permissions for the journal.

If you can't sign in, see Account troubleshooting for more information.

Finding your tasks

Finding your tasks section

The dashboard is where you find tasks and articles assigned to you. What you see in Janeway depends on your roles. You can hold more than one role and the dashboard will show a section for each one. To learn more about navigating Janeway and finding the dashboard, see Navigating Janeway.

Find your role below to see where your tasks appear and which guide to read.

Submit an article through the journal website, and follow it through review, copyediting and proofreading. See the Author workflow guide.
  • Reviewer
Open a review from the link in your invitation email, or click View requests on your dashboard. See the Reviewer workflow guide.
  • Copyeditor
